Insane Nexus 5, 20hr+ battery life

The other day I managed 7hrs screen on time with 50% brightness! Today I worked a pretty active use of my phone but mainly in the calls department...

Over 4hours talk draining 35% battery.
GPS on for 1hr 30
2hours screen on time which was only around 8% battery drain.

The phone has been going for over 12 hours and still has 40% to spare. With this kernel (faux) and ROM (cataclysm) the snap dragon roars when its ready but slumbers without wake when resting. Behold the photos of truth!

Build 19 - Wingray 4.4 KitKat LIFESTREAM

First of all pologies for the consistant posting today its been a while and ive found the time to get developing this week.

Build 19 has these major changes:
-A LOT less apps (~60MB cut out)
-system.img ~198MB
- You can now flash from fastboot without an error

PROBLEMS:
-still does not boot

in this build however i have started to track the logs of dmesg (more if i can find) to see as much information about what the system is doing!

DMESG DUMP of 4.4 with the default boot img

XOOM Wifi 4.4 KitKat Development (autopost for google+ test)

Build 18 of LOGMD's LIFESTREAM 4.4 KitKat EXTREME ALPHA has had its first successful build without errors.. this DOES NOT mean it will boot or do anything at all its simply a step forward!

PASSES:
-i can flash system.img by extracting the data and making a flashable zip
-repartition works smoothly (i didnt make this check XDA)

ISSUES:
-Stuck at boot IMAGE (not logo) and looping
-Kernel may not be compiled properly
-may be problems with EGL

the Xoom is getting very old now which is why i am trying to spring the last ounce of life into it, as are many other developers since the EOS programme was abandoned. It is a device with great battery life and fair performance and decent when Overclocked

Follow my development on google+ (linked to this post) or on XDA Developers

LINKED

I have purchased LOGMDev.com and associated it with this blog, my google+ page so everything should be happily linked! Google are doing some impressive work with the Google+ Network (note how i didnt say social network), linking together all of the google services sooner or later people will see the true power of Google+ in the UK.

I already have most of my friends on it now and they are finding hangouts integration giving you the ability of whatsapp/imessenger and more on any device or computer making it much more widely available.. id far rather message people from my PC if thats what im using i shouldnt HAVE to pick up my phone to check messages this is 2013!

When i tell people with modern android handsets that they already have a google plus they say no... so i say do you download apps? log into youtube? use gmail?... then yes you do!

Now Launcher (BETA) is finally here!

So the first public beta has been released and development should pick up soon once I start seeing the response to my application. The next few weeks will be spent on bug fixing the initial beta, as well as working on in app billing to allow pro features as soon as possible.

Most of my development will probably updated on the XDA forum HERE, to hopefully get a more technical response. Get exclusive access to the latest experimental beta by joining the LOGMD community on google+ for beta testers

The first 5 testers to help me though the beta will get named in the about section of this application because I appreciate any time spent helping and will add a link to a social network/blog etc... of your choice.

This first release is only the lite version and has the most basic features available but is usable as a daily driver (from what i have tested) i do not have access to nexus devices of the kind. I've tested on the galaxy s2 (4.2), galaxy ACE(running 4.2) and motorola xoom (4.2).

LOGMD on XDA Developers!

I have spent a fair amount of time in the last few weeks building up connections between social networks and linking them together. One of them bringing all accounts to a have a unified name - in this case 'LOGMD' or 'LOGMDev' to represent myself as a developer in the Android community. I have built a twitter account, Faceboook page, Google+ Page, Gmail, Youtube(will be launched soon) and the last to be unified; XDA Developers account. Hopefully this will encourage people to recognise my name and know the field of applications i am set to develop.

XDA name change

XDA Signature

I have been focusing lately on creating applications which are not standard and available within each mobile OS. Where Anroid, iOS and WP8 share common functionality in that an application is limited to an sandbox where whatever the app does is within its application window, using verified system services(like notifications) or through a server. With android there is the power to go further, with system overlay applications such as GloveBox and SideBar, both amazing applications which take elements from other operating systems and incorporate it as an extension to android.

Above are the banners I have used to try and gain followers, and hope it will inspire other people to try the same!

Now Launcher (ALPHA Update)

So the alpha testing is under-way  getting out some final core features for the free version before I roll out the BETA.

For those of you that don't know what this app will do; it will allow you to access a single application anywhere on your device using a single swipe from the bottom edge of your phone.

The pro version will allow you to tweak the settings to allow applications other than Google now, access more splash screens, disable the splash screen for speed over beauty as well as many other features to come. follow the development at Google plus and join the alpha/pre-beta team to test its current state

Not long from now the debut video of the LOGMD TV channel on youtube will be uploaded! stay tuned to get the latest news and info.

InvisiWidget - Invisible Widget for Android

Hi all,
This is my first Android application (InvisiWidget),. It is simply an invisible widget and may evolve to be more in the future. It is targeted at android 4.2+ but is also compatible for devices running Android 2.3+ (although I wouldn't know what it would be used for).

Reason for creating this application

I wrote this application as I was trying to theme my Motorola XOOM like the Ubuntu touch OS which is in development at this time. I noticed that on android 4.2 I could not switch off the lock-screen widgets in order to display this beautiful live wallpaper I have found which shows a clock like interface (Ubuntu live wallpaper beta). the problem is shown below:

Image The Outcome

As you can see, the lock-screen is always covered by the clock widget, and any attempt to remove it (if left empty) it returns. so I created this invisible widget to replace the clock widget (or any other widget) with a clear one which is shown below:Image feel free to download, test and rate this app!
